DeVry University

With over 90 locations across the U.S. and Canada, Devry University offers a broad range of associate’s, bachelor’s, and master’s degree programs on-campus as well as online. DeVry is a for-profit institution of higher education that focuses on career education so that its graduates are prepared to enter or further advance in a wide variety of professions. Over 90% of their graduates in the job market secure a position in their field within six months of graduation.

What is now DeVry University began in 1931 as the DeForest Training School which was established in Chicago by Dr. Herman DeVry to provide technical education. In 1953, it became the DeVry Technical Institute before changing its name again in 1968 to the DeVry Institute of Technology. DeVry grew quite a bit after 1966 when it was purchased by the Bell and Howell Education Group. In 1987, DeVry merged with the Keller Graduate School of Management and bought out Bell and Howell. Since then, DeVry has purchased other schools, and their program offerings and geographic reach have expanded considerably.
