What is An Lpn to Rn Bridge Online Degree Program

An LPN to RN bridge online degree program is meant as an articulation course for licensed practical nurses (LPN) to become registered nurses (RN). By availing this program LPNs can obtain advance credits for their RN programs. The LPN to RN bridge online degree program enhances the skills that LPNs have acquired and readies the students for their role as an RN. An aspirant to the LPN to RN should have an LPN registration or he should be eligible for an LPN registration in the US. At the end of the LPN to RN course, you qualify for the NCLEX examination that is compulsory for becoming a licensed registered nurse.

This is a three-credit course and at the end of the course the LPNs earn around 15 credits for their RN degrees. These advance credits mean that an LPN has to spend less time and effort in acquiring an RN degree. This program helps working LPNs to move up the career ladder and become RNs. It is an excellent career option for those who wish to take advantage of the burgeoning demand for nurses in the United States. You can move into leadership roles and the experience will stand you in good stead when you decide to do an MSN.

While choosing an online LPN to RN check the number of students from that course who actually go on to acquire an RN degree, try and gauge the satisfaction levels of those who are taking the course and those who have finished it. There are many online forums where you can do this. Choose an LPN to RN program that offers you the freedom to manage your work, family, and studies. Look for programs that offer you the course on reduced fees or if you qualify for a fee reimbursement. A program that allows you to secure a place for clinical learning at your workplace will help you save on commuting time. Compare accredited schools and look for one that offers you the most credits.

Jane Hodgkins recommends that you visit http://www.ondg.net/2005/12/lpn_to_rn_onlin.html for more information on an online LPN to RN bridge program.

People tell me i should be a politician, apparently because im a accurate orator. Im a senior, people hire me to be a sensitive of lobbyist you can say, i get rewarded -0 to give speeches in my city, but how would that work surrounded by the world of politics, need the site first tho

A sound out for nurses/nursing students roughly speaking conservatory!?
I am attending a local community college, and will graduate this spring with an Associate in Arts college verbs degree. I have established that I want to become an RN. So, there are two options. One of which I could enroll into the community college ADN program, which is significantly competitive, but I have basically adjectives of the classes needed for the point count. My other option would be to try to get into the local university’s BSN program. I do not own all of the university’s prereq’s though. They also require that you are to be a certified CNA to enroll. I have be going to school full-time all while one a single mother to a two year old. I get facilitate from my mom, and have taken a lot of online courses. I will own 64 hours of transferable credit at the end of the year. From all of the posts I hold read ADN graduates and BSN graduates spawn the same wages, but have a harder time getting proprietor type positions which pay higher salary. I am lost.. SOMEONE HELP ME! lol Thanks

A strictness worker directing traffic?
I work with autistic adults. One of my clients sometimes lies down in the street, and can even roll over near her head and shoulders onto the road. Today at my health and sanctuary training I was told not to try and lift her out of the road as I may hurt my vertebrae or be attacked by her, or make her physically uncomfortable while she be being lifted but to stand within the middle of the road and tell the traffic to stop and wait for the client to stand up herself. This purely seems like mental illness to me. This girl can lie down for 20 minutes sometimes, and I live in a city where on earth people drive really badly. She is also slightly small and easy to move. What do you think?

A tour next to my potential rmployer tomorrow, what should i do?
I have been wanting to obtain a job at a hospital for a long time. Last time I applied, I didn’t get it. I hold requested a tour of the hospital. I contacted the department head and he agreed to give me a tour himself tomorrow. I am thinking this is a great opportunity for me to carry to know him and for him to know me. I do plan on applying for the position again soon. My question is, how do I impress him? Should I dress professionally for the tour or should I dress casually? Should I prepare question to ask, and if yes, what should I ask? Anything else– dos and don’ts ? I will appreciate any pointers and advice. Thank you!

A trade as a eye doctor?
I was thinking about getting into man a eye doctor. Had a quick question a short time ago regarding how many years of college I would have to go and what university are good?

A trade within medication?
I’ve always wanted to be a doctor, and really want to give support to people and make a difference, but over olden times few months i’ve being having doubts becuase my mom said she doesnt have an idea that i’ll get good adequate grades to get in (i want AAB at least, just done my AS level, not sure how well i did), and she says she cant see me one a doctor, and im not motivated. So firstly, how do i show her that i am passionate about a work in medicine? Also, she is a nurse, and say that i won’t feel appreciated and won’t feel similar to i’m making a difference as a doctor, becuase not many patients will appreciaite it, so if i want to do that i should be a nurse, but i would like some more opinion on this please? I did look at doing engineering, but im not as a passionate about that- I can’t see myself doing anything except medicine or nursing! So just want your opinion on things really- what is it really like as a doctor/nurse? It sounds corny, but i wana change things, and breed a difference!

A Guide to Nursing Schools

The medical, as well as the dictionary, definition of a nurse is the healthcare professional engaged in the practice of nursing. Nurses are men and women responsible for the safety and recovery of chronically ill or injured people, and treatment of life-threatening emergencies in a wide-range of health care settings. Nurses are involved in medical and nursing research. Nursing schools are educational institutions, where aspiring nurses undergo training to become a full-fledged nurse. The nature of training and qualifications varies considerably across the world. Currently, nursing schools offer more than 350 master’s programs in nursing. The degrees awarded by various schools may differ, but the core or essence of most masters programs remains similar.

Training

Nursing is one of the most satisfying careers to pursue, but is not what you see in movies or soap operas. It is hard work, and learning to become a nurse requires dedication and long hours of study and preparation. Unlike many other disciplines in which the academic curriculum has foundation courses with many related subject areas, nursing schools offer courses usually build on one another. As such, a weakness in one area may cause academic problems in the remainder of the nursing sequence. In nursing schools, some programs are specially designed for students who are already registered nurses, but want to give their career that extra boost. The students should make certain whichever school they attend, is accredited by the National League for Nursing (NLN).

There is an ever-increasing demand for nursing school graduates in hospitals, schools, clinics, public health agencies, and many other establishments throughout the world. The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) predicts a nursing shortage of 12% by year 2010 or an estimated shortage of 260,000 professional nurses. For prospective nursing graduates that represent an astounding opportunity, to safely secure their career both on a personal and financial level. The opportunities presented are all the more, for students graduating from top nursing schools.

Capitalizing on these mind-boggling figures, the number of nursing schools in recent years has grown exponentially. Therefore, the aspiring student must verify the credentials of nursing schools, before actually enrolling in one. Nowadays, a variety of online nursing schools have also spawned for working professionals. These online institutes allow the students to attend their classes virtually, and complete the training modules from the comfort from their homes. However, the sustainability and dependability of such online nursing schools is very much in doubt, since the students need on-site clinical training if they aspire to work in the healthcare industry.

What the Nursing schools Don’t want you to Know..

Nursing faculties could be a nightmare – unless you understand how to manuever through your options. When you speak with a recruiter, remember that there are 3 main approaches to a nursing college education :

Option 1. Conventional College. While this will help you in achieving your goal, there are some very real difficulties. Here are a few :

Scheduling classes 2 -3 days per week will not fit with your work schedule. Not many of us can afford to quit our roles to return to school fulltime.

You’ve got to pass an entrance test. You may not feel up to this after being out of college for so long.

The list is about 3 years at most colleges/universities.

Most require that you demonstrate your clinical skills, that means going through a sixteen -18 week rotation at a local surgery without pay.

The price of teaching is pricey. Nursing programs can run ,000 – , 000 each year, and it’ll take you at least 2 years to finish.

Option two. Distance learning RN Bridge Program : home-based learning RN Bridge Programs will also assist you in achieving your goal. This approach eliminates the list and the clinical rotation. It also gives you the adaptability to keep your job as you study, and the price is lower than traditional school. But again, there are some awfully real obstructions the home-based learning RN Bridge Program advocates won’t tell you about :
A lack of academic support. What occurs if you have got a question about Microbiology? The answer is that you haven’t any one to turn to.

Structure is missing. What is appealing to most people is the flexibility that comes with a home-based distance learning RN Bridge Program. Every home-based learning RN Bridge Program advocate that offers a LPN to RN program will tell you that you can learn in the ease of your own home – at your own pace.

Yes, they’ll provide you with tutorials engineered to eliminate textbooks. Manuals frequently penned by professors from leading universities and that’s all well and good..

BUT…

There’s a massive issue with this approachLet’s suppose for a second that you do sign up for a home run remote learning RN Bridge Program. Did you know the percentages are higher the help files end up in the back of your closet than open on your kitchen table or desk? Did you know that the average timeframe for a remote learning RN Bridge Program student to complete a course – those that actually start – is seven months?

Why?

As it’s not a systematic process for you. There’s not a bell that goes’ding!’ to remind you to study, take sample tests
and quizzes or schedule the exam for creditYOU ARE ON YOUR OWN Who do you turn to if you do not understand something? At last, the books finish up in the back of your closet.

Option three : The mixed Learning Program Solution
If you actually want to complete those RN courses you have to have support and a systematic process for completing them successfully.

That is where the Blended Learning Program Solution comes in. In a mixed Learning Program, you will find the best of the Traditional school and remote learning RN Bridge Programs approaches, WITHOUT the pitfalls. BTW : while there are many such programs around the country, there is a great LPN to RN Program in Nashville, TN. Here is what you can anticipate :

Structure : A weekly study plan is provided, with one, 4-hour class per week.

Accountability : Instructors take a look at your progress weekly, measure your results through quizzes and tests, as well as provide guidance and adjustment systems as important to assure your success.

Caring : mixed learning staff is invested in your success. An individualized educational plan is prepared for each new student, with weekly follow-up to assure you keep on track.

No clinical rotation is required : Your LPN, paramedic or respiratory specialist license immediately qualifies you for the program.

Qualified Instruction : All blended Learning instructors hold pros or Doctorates in their fields of specialty.
motivation : as they say, success breeds success. You need to forecast an electrified environment, full of scholars excited about their swift progress.
sped up progress : Many blended Learning courses are finished in as little as a month, instead of the common 16-20 week semester.

No list : you’ll be finished with the program and working as a RN long before you’d be off of the typical university’s list.
Low Cost : you may find that the cost of a blended Learning program is about 1/3 – 1/2 of the characteristic university program.

a variety of payment options : While you aren’t a RN yet, making the’big money’, the everyday mixed Learning program guarantees financing should you want it, as well as a variety of payment options. Rest warranted, an option is available to fit your circumstances, even if you don’t have the absolute best credit. The Nashville Nursing school’s facility offers a variety of options you won’t find anywhere else.

And if you’re hesitant about returning to class after so many years or have test hysteria, the blended Learning Centers teach you a novel study system to save you time and maximize your success.

I was reading an article by a Blended Learning expert, and he has a good point about learning.

Accredited Online Schools Add New Horizons to your Career

Online education needs no introduction today. They have been very much in the limelight for being highly flexible to suit everybody’s needs and timings. Getting an online degree is very advantageous and one must consider it to be a part of their career plan. There are so many online schools available today that offers a plethora of courses and programs to match one’s interest. One thing that needs to be highlighted here is that along with the genuine schools that provide such degrees, an array of fake schools have also mushroomed with the intention of making money. Fake online schools confer degrees unworthy of the marketplace and unworthy of recognition by many employers. Due to this reason working professionals and students need to do quality research on the online school they wish to join.

Accreditation is the Key

One key criterion to check whether a school is genuine or fake is to check the accreditation of that school. Schools must be accredited by the state in which they operate, by one of the six regional agencies:

1. Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSC)
2. Northwest Association of Schools and of Colleges and Universities, (NASC)
3. Higher Learning Commission of North Central Region (NCA)
4. New England Association of Schools and Colleges (NEASC)
5. Southern Association of Colleges and Schools (SACS)
6. Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC)

And by national agencies, such as:

1. Distance Education and Training Council (DETC)
2. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools (ACICS).

Career Prospects with Accredited Online Schools

Accredited Online Schools provide so many opportunities to people to build desirable careers by earning diplomas, certificates, associate degrees, bachelor degrees, master degrees, and even doctorate degrees from an online course of study. This is the time to take action as the online education market is growing approximately 40% each year. Get enrolled with an Accredited Online School to get an edge in job over your competitors for the next big promotion or to switch on to the career of your interest. Self-determination, self-discipline and focus are needed to achieve success with online education and the efforts are always worth.

Top Accredited Online Schools

There are a number of renowned schools that provide online education. Amongst them, the top accredited online schools are:

1. Kaplan University
2. University of Phoenix
3. Ashford University
4. American InterContinental University
5. Everest University
6. Liberty University
7. Grand Canyon University
8. Capella University
9. Westwood College
10. Strayer University

The University of the People for Zero Cost Higher Education

This is the latest of online universities. It is a not-for-profit institution. Founded in 2009 by the UN’s Global Alliance for Information and Communication Technology and Development (GAID), this university aims at providing quality higher education to those who cannot afford to study at the public and private universities due to high course fees charged by them. The University of the People claims that the education fees have been set such that the students will never have to pay more than 0 to study here. Education will be provided by harnessing the power of social media. Though the university is not accredited as of now, but a proper accreditation has been planned by the university officials.

Conclusion

Fully accredited online schools offer the best of opportunities to working adults and students to prepare for their desired careers. There are a number of accredited online schools to choose from. Before getting enrolled, accreditation must be checked. Consider going for the University of the People for zero cost education.

Question by Kelli McCoy: Which hospital job should I pursue? Medical Records or Hospital Unit Clerk, Billing, Nursing, etc…?
I was thinking of taking either the “Hospital Unit Clerk” or the “Medical Records Clerk” course which focuses on compiling, processing, and maintaining medical records of hospital & clinic patients. I would also take an “Electronic Health Records” course which teaches the theory & hands-on application needed to work in todays medical office. I was considering the “Central Sterile Technician” course, but it seems that Surgical Technicians primarily hold these jobs.

After completing the above, I would then pursue either the “Medical Transcriptionist” or the “Medical Coding Certificate”. Both are online courses through the school, and require an internship. I felt this field would be the best choice based on my previous experience. Although I have not worked in a medical office I was a Project Manager for Fedex Kinkos for over three years. I have strong “business/office” skills, and am a very detail-oriented, organized individual.

There is also a “Certified CNA” course & a “Home Caregiver Program”, and I would take both. I was thinking of pursuing the Practical Nurse program next fall, since I would only need 9 classes. However, I don’t know if I can handle collecting blood or administering IV’s, if required. For some reason, the idea has always bothered me. However, I know I could earn more as an LPN, and maybe this fear of “pricking others” would pass.

What would your advice be? I am seeking a position that is in demand, and pays at least 30K. Should I take the Hospital Unit Clerk or the Medical Records Clerk course, and then take Medical Coding or Medical Transcription. Or should I continue to consider the LPN route. Honestly, I would be happiest in an office environment doing clerical tasks.
Or should I perhaps consider the Medical Assistant program, instead of the Medical Coding certificate. What would look better to a potential employer, and is the earning potential the same?

Best answer:

Answer by jlf
The first ones you mention are essentially “office jobs.” Anything connected with nursing or “hands on” medical technicians are clinical.
